Police Arrest Man Over Erratic Driving

Police have arrested a man following an alleged pursuit in Bayside over the weekend.

Police received a number of calls reporting a white Toyota Camry being driven erratically along North Road about 2.20pm on 12 October.

It was then reported that the same car had crashed into a number of parked cars in New Street, Brighton about 3.10pm.

Several police cars and the Air Wing patrolled the area for the Toyota.

The car was located and the Air Wing were able to direct units on the ground.

The Toyota stopped at the intersection of Ormond Esplanade and St Kilda Street, Ellwood and police were able to arrest the driver.

He was taken to hospital and has been since charged with drug and driving offences and has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
