Police have arrested two men following a pursuit which started at West Croydon.
Just before 11pm, Friday 9 July, patrols spotted a Holden station wagon travelling west along Torrens Road with two occupants and false plates.
Police tried to stop the driver who refused and sped off. Police did not pursue the car and PolAir followed as it drove north along the North-South Motorway and through the northern suburbs.
The car was successfully spiked outside the entrance to the RAAF base at Edinburgh where the driver was arrested. His passenger jumped the fence and was arrested a short time after inside the base.
A 34-year-old from Klemzig has been charged with dangerous driving to escape police, display false plates, driver at extreme speed, drive disqualified and produce false details. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday. His passenger, a 29-year-old from Angle Park, was charged with unlawfully on premises and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 10 August.
Investigations are continuing in relation to the registered owner of the station wagon.
