Police Arrest Pair Over Stolen Car At Torrensville

Police arrested a man and woman after they allegedly abandoned a stolen car at Torrensville last night.

About 8.15pm on Saturday 25 May, police spotted a green Holden Commodore sedan on West Terrace which had been reported stolen from the CBD on Thursday.

Patrols followed the car as it turned onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive and then attempted to stop it on James Congdon Drive but it sped off. They lost sight of the stolen Holden on Railway Terrace.

PolAir was brought in to assist in a search for the car and picked it up travelling along North Parade at Torrensville. The vehicle was soon abandoned in Chatswood Grove where two occupants ran off.

Patrols swarmed the area and located the pair a few streets away.

A 29-year-old man from Woodville South and a 33-year-old woman from Albert Park were arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and failing to truly answer.

They were bailed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on 15 July.

The stolen car was seized for forensic examination.
