Police Arrest Seven After Pursuit In Melbourne's West

Police have arrested seven teenagers after a pursuit in Melbourne's West overnight.

Officers spotted an allegedly stolen white Skoda SUV driving at high speeds on Greens Road in Wyndham Vale just after 11pm.

The car was followed by Air Wing and police units on the ground through Werribee, Tarneit and Point Cook, then over the Westgate Bridge towards Melbourne before it returned to the western suburbs.

The Skoda came to a stop on Featherbrook Drive in Point Cook, where several occupants got out of the car and into a white Volvo.

The Volvo allegedly sped off along the Princes Freeway, outbound towards Little River, before returning to the Werribee area.

The Volvo crashed into a tree on Wisdom Avenue in Truganina.

There were no injuries and five of the occupants were swiftly arrested at the scene.

Two teens fled on foot, were located with assistance from the Air Wing, and were arrested a short time later.

The seven teenagers were all taken into custody where they will be interviewed.

Police allegedly located several weapons in both vehicles.

The Skoda is believed to be stolen during an aggravated burglary at a property on Arkins Court in Tarneit on 2 February.

The Volvo is believed to be stolen from an aggravated burglary on Kalorama Street in Tarneit on 4 February.
