Police have arrested six teens and a woman following an alleged theft and assault from a liquor store at Seacliff Park this afternoon.
Just before 5pm, Thursday 9 June, the group entered the store on Seacombe Road and allegedly stole alcohol. They were confronted by staff who they allegedly assaulted along with two customers who had come to the aid of the staff member. The group then left the store on foot.
Police quickly set up cordons and conducted a search locating the group in Don Avenue. Four of the group ran off but were apprehended a short distance away on Lamington Street. Arrested were a 14 and 17-year-old boy along with a 19-year-old woman, all from Morphett Vale, and a 16-year-old boy from Renmark, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old both from Christie Downs and a 13-year-old boy from Ingle Farm.
They all expected to be charged with theft and assault and a decision regarding their suitability for bail is yet to be made.
Police also recovered several bottles of alcohol at the locations they were arrested.
