Police arrested and charged seven males following an alleged pursuit that started in Cann River on 21 November.
Police spotted an alleged stolen ute and sedan in Mallacoota about 9.30am and attempted to intercept the cars in Cann River however, both cars allegedly evaded police.
With a co-ordinated effort by members from Cann River, Mallacoota, Bruthen, Orbost, Lakes Entrance along with Highway Patrol officers from Orbost and Bairnsdale, the vehicles were tracked across Cann River, Brodribb River, Orbost and Nowa Nowa.
Police units pursued the vehicles east of Orbost before highway patrol officers successfully deployed stop-sticks, firstly on Princes Highway, Brodribb River, before locating the sedan abandoned in Orbost.
A second successful deployed of stop-sticks occurred later at Nowa Nowa with the ute then being located abandoned near Lambournes Break Road.
Police searched dense bushland Nowa Nowa And all seven offenders were located and arrested.
Five teenage boys have been charged and remanded in custody and will appear at a children's court at a later date.
Two males aged 15 and 18 have been bailed to face court at a later date.
They have all been charged with theft of motor vehicle, fail to stop on police direction, bring stolen goods into Victoria, theft and other related offences.
