Three people have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a house and stealing two BMW's from a Medindie home overnight.
Just after 4am on Thursday 12 September, patrols were called to Avenel Gardens Road, after the victim reported he saw three people breaking into his home and stealing two vehicles, a white BMW and a blue BMW.
Patrols were quick to the scene and set up cordons to attempt to locate the suspects.
The vehicles were tracked with the assistance of traffic cameras onto the Southern Expressway near Panalatinga Road. A short time later, police received reports from members of the public that a white BMW had crashed on the Southern Expressway at Reynella.
The blue BMW continued heading south, but unknown to the offenders the victim had live tracking on the vehicle.
The car was tracked as it travelled on Main South Road towards Beach Road, onto Bains Road and Seaview Road before it was dumped on Edith Street at Morphett Vale. Three people were seen running from the vehicle attempting to evade police.
Patrols were quick to establish cordons in the area and PD Bandit and PD Edge were called in to assist with the search.
Shortly after, police located and arrested the three men in a nearby creek line. An 18-year-old from Hackham West, a 20-year-old from Christie Downs and an 18-year-old from Christies Beach are expected to be charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft of a motor vehicle.
