A man and a woman have been charged, and a second man remains in custody, following a string of offences in the state's Northern Tablelands yesterday.
At 9.50am (Thursday 21 November 2019), officers attached to New England Police District were patrolling the Bundarra area when they detected a Holden Commodore speeding in the township of Bundarra.
Officers attempted to stop the Holden, which failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.
The three occupants are alleged to have damaged property and vehicles, threatened property owners and started several fires as they attempted to evade police in the Cameron's Creek area.
About 1.30pm, a 29-year-old man was arrested at a Kingston property.
A 38-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested about 3.20pm in the dam of a nearby property.
All three were taken to Armidale Police Station.
The younger man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and two counts of intentionally cause fire and be reckless as to its spread.
The woman was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
The pair were refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court today (Friday 22 November 2019).
The older man was transferred to Armidale Hospital under police guard for treatment.
