Missing Persons Squad detectives have arrested two people following the death of a man in Chadstone earlier this week.
A 36-year-old Chadstone woman was arrested last night in Seaford while a 35-year-old Chadstone man was arrested this afternoon in Carrum Downs.
The pair will now be interviewed by police.
The arrests follow an incident where a man aged in his 40s was fatally assaulted earlier this week.
At this stage the exact circumstances of the assault are yet to be determined, however it is believed that the incident occurred at a property on Binalong Avenue, Chadstone.
On 18 July, emergency services were called to a fire at this address and that fire is being treated as a suspicious.
A significant search was undertaken today by police for the man as part of the investigation.
A body of a man, yet to be formally identified, was located in Mount Waverley this afternoon.
It's believed the parties involved were known to each other and the investigation remains ongoing.
