Police arrest two after St Kilda assault

Detectives from Port Phillip Serious Violent Offender Team have arrested and charged two men following an alleged assault which occurred in St Kilda last year.

Investigators have been told four men were involved in an altercation near Acland Street on 2 November about 3am.

The incident resulted in the two victims being rendered unconscious and being taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.

An extensive investigation by detectives led to the execution of warrants in Altona Meadows and Port Melbourne on 6 January.

A 21-year-old man from Altona Meadows and a 19-year-old man from Port Melbourne have been charged with affray and intentionally cause injury.

Both men have been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 20 June.
