Police Arrest Two After Stolen Car Pursued At Prospect

A driver was arrested after a police pursuit at Prospect last night.

About 9.15pm on Thursday 1 August, police spotted a stolen white Ford station wagon on Prospect Road, Blair Athol and attempted to pull it over, however it took off through the backstreets of Prospect.

The two occupants jumped out of the vehicle and ran off. One man was quickly apprehended, while the other managed to get onto the roof of a house in Farrant Street.

Police cordoned off the area and officers negotiated with the man who was safely taken into custody just before 10pm.

A 31-year-old Kilburn man was arrested and charged with illegal use, fail to truly answer questions and drive dangerously to escape police. He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 29 August.

The 32-year-old Elizabeth Park man was arrested and charged with being unlawfully on premises, property damage to the roof, fail to truly answer questions and drive dangerously to escape police. He did not apply for bail and will appear in court today.

The Ford station wagon, which had been stolen from outside an Elizabeth North home about 3pm yesterday, was towed away for forensic examination.
