Detectives from Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit have arrested two men over a series of alleged commercial burglaries.
Officers have been investigating 31 burglaries where small businesses such as laundromats, milk bars, cafes and post offices were targeted.
It is alleged offenders would attend the premises on stolen motorcycles or in a stolen car, break in and steal cash and cigarettes.
Reported incidents occurred in Altona, Altona Meadows, Altona North, Williamstown, Seaford, Caulfield, Rowville, Bannockburn, Highton, Croydon, Daylesford, Woodend, Trentham, Point Cook and Bungaree.
Warrants were executed in Maidstone Street, Altona and Cunninghams Road, Werribee South earlier today.
A 28-year-old Werribee South man and a 38-year-old Altona man were arrested and interviewed by police.
Both face over 50 charges each for burglary, theft and traffic offences.
They faced the Melbourne Magistrates' Court this evening and have been remanded to 24 June.
The investigation is ongoing.
