Police Arrest Woman After Highlands CFA Burglary

Alexandra Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a woman after an alleged burglary and theft of a ute along with firefighting equipment from the Highlands CFA on Ghin Ghin Road on 9 January.

The ute, a 2006 Toyota Landcruiser with CFA markings, was allegedly stolen along with the equipment.

Police located the vehicle parked in a service station on Hume Highway, Tallarook and attempted to intercept it on 10 January.

The Landcruiser ute allegedly collided with a police car, unoccupied at the time, before it drove away with police in quick pursuit.

Police lost sight of the Landcruiser which was located a short time later, abandoned on Hume Freeway, Wallan.

A 36-year-old Melton South woman was arrested nearby.

She was interviewed by detectives and is expected to be charged on summons.

A male suspect is yet to be identified.
