A Victor Harbor woman has been arrested for several driving offences after an overnight police pursuit went from Strathalbyn to Mannum.
Just after 11pm on Saturday 22 September, a Strathalbyn police patrol went to stop a black Mitsubishi Lancer sedan for a random breath test, butthe woman driving allegedly failed to stop and the vehicle with four occupants was pursued east towards Langhorne Creek and Callington.
At about 11.45pm Murray Bridge patrols spotted the black Lancer on Ferris McDonald Road at Minarto heading north and it was again pursued.
The police helicopter ( PolAir) was called for to head up from Adelaide to assist, while patrols continued to follow the vehicle north onto Anders Road then Manuum Road.
Just after midnight (PolAir) took up observation of the vehicle as it headed through back roads towards Mannum.
At 12.35am police patrols were able to spike the black sedan's tyres on Piggery Road and shortly after the car came to a stop and the female driver was arrested.
The 24-year-old woman from Victor Harbor was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving disqualified, driving in manner dangerous to the public and driving without due care.
The front passenger, a 27 -year-old man was also arrested for drug offences. Two male passengers were released after being questioned.
The black Lancer which was not stolen was impounded for 28 days. The arrested woman is likely to be bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
There were no injuries and no damage to any police vehicles.
