A man has been arrested after crashing his car into a police car at Kanmantoo today, according to SA Police.
Police investigating a reported break-in at the Monarto Zoo were involved in a brief pursuit with a vehicle about midday, but lost sight of the car in Kanmantoo.
A short time later, the patrol car was stationary on the Old Princes Highway, Kanmantoo when it was hit by the suspect vehicle. The airbags deployed and the officers sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The suspect was arrested at the scene. He sustained serious injuries in the collision and has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The police officers have gone to the local hospital to be checked out.
Traffic heading towards Nairne is restricted to one lane on the Old Princes Highway at Kanmantoo.
