Police charge driver after serious crash at Hawkesbury

The driver of a vehicle involved in a serious head-on crash in Lower McDonald, near Wisemans Ferry yesterday has now been charged.

Police will allege the crash occurred about 3.30pm (Wednesday 25 September 2019), when a Toyota Landcruiser collided with a motorcycle on Settlers Road, Lower Macdonald.

The 76-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in critical condition with lower leg and internal injuries; he remains in a serious condition.

The 24-year-old female driver of the Landcruiser was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. She was then taken to Windsor Police Station where she was interviewed by officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

She was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, not keep left of dividing line, not give particulars to police.

She was given conditional bail and will appear in Windsor Local Court on Thursday 17 October 2019.
