Police Charge Four After Pursuit In Sydney's North West

A man and three teenagers have been charged following a pursuit through Sydney's north west this morning.

Just after 1am (Saturday 17 August 2024), officers attached to Region Enforcement Squad Gordon observed an Audi Q7, which had allegedly been stolen, travelling southbound on Old Northern Road, Dural, and attempted to stop the vehicle.

When the Audi failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated and continued to Pennant Hills Road, where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed.

The vehicle came to a stop after hitting a traffic light at the intersection of James Ruse Drive, North Parramatta.

One of the occupants of the vehicle – a 22-year-old man – was arrested at the scene.

Three other occupants fled the scene on foot.

Following an extensive search by local police, with the assistance of PolAir and the Dog Unit, the three 17-year-old boys were located nearby.

One of the teenagers was taken to hospital to be treated for a previous medical condition. He was later released and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The other two teens and the man were taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The 22-year-old man was charged with be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner and he was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

The three teens were charged with be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner, enter inclosed land not presc premises without lawful excuse and breach of bail.

They were refused bail, to appear at a children's court today.
