Four men have been charged following an alleged assault in Sydney's Inner West.
Shortly after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday 2 December 2024), officers from Burwood Police Area Command were called to Peninsula Drive, Breakfast Point, following reports of an assault.
Police were told a number of people allegedly assaulted a 22-year-old man and a 54-year-old man with hammers.
The group of people allegedly fled on foot to Village Drive.
A short time later, as the group approached a car, the 54-year-old man allegedly deliberately drove his car into the other car, causing significant damage to both vehicles. A motorcycle was also damaged.
The group of people allegedly fled on foot and three men were arrested a short distance away.
Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.
Two men, aged 18, and a 19-year-old man were taken to Burwood Police Station.
The 22-year-old man was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his head.
The 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Auburn Police Station.
He was charged with predatory driving and refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 3 December 2024).
The three other men were all charged with affray.
They were granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 10 December 2024.
