Police charge man after 1,4-Butanediol seizures

Major Drug Squad detectives have charged a man and seized quantities of 1,4-Butanediol and cash following an investigation into drug trafficking.

Detectives will allege that various quantities of 1,4-Butanediol were disguised and imported into Australia via the postal system.

Police executed a search warrant at an address in Burwood early this morning.

They subsequently seized a quantity of 1,4-Butanediol, a sum of cash and fraudulent identification and bank cards.

A 22-year-old Burwood man was charged with traffick commercial quantity of drug of dependence, attempt to commit indictable offence of traffick a commercial quantity of drug of dependence, possess proceeds of crime, handle stolen goods and possess identification to commit indictable offence.

He will front Melbourne Magistrates' Court tonight.
