Police Charge Man After 2011 Armed Robbery

Detectives from Cold Case Investigations have charged a 46-year-old man in relation to a historical armed robbery and aggravated robbery incident that occurred at a residence in Wellard on 2 June 2011.

It will be alleged about 2:55am, the accused entered the home and disturbed a 16-year-old girl who was asleep in the lounge room. He allegedly held a knife to her neck to stop her calling for help before he stole various items and left the home.

Thirteen years after the incident, detectives from Cold Case Investigations arrested and charged the man as he arrived at the Perth Domestic Terminal from New South Wales.

The 46-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with:

• One count of Aggravated Burglary and Commit Offence in Dwelling;

• One count of Deprivation of Liberty; and

• One count of Aggravated Armed Robbery.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 9 January 2025.
