Police charge man after ammunition seized - Punchbowl

A man will appear in court today charged with firearms offences after police seized ammunition from a home in Sydney's south west.

Just before 8am yesterday (Tuesday 22 September 2020), officers from Campsie Police Area Command executed a Firearms Prohibition Order at a house on Lancaster Avenue, Punchbowl.

During the search, police seized almost $3700 cash, eight mobile phones, clothing, two vials of a substance believed to be steroids and 50 rounds of .40 calibre ammunition.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, acquire ammunition – subject to prohibition order and firearm part or ammunition found at premises – subject to prohibition order.

He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 23 September 2020).
