A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in the Riverina.
About 5.45am yesterday (Tuesday 23 March 2024), police were called to a service station on Fitzmaurice Street, Wagga Wagga, following reports of an armed robbery.
The 25-year-old male employee was allegedly threatened with a bat, before the offender stole cash and fled the scene.
The man was not physically injured.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District responded and established a crime scene.
About 12.30pm yesterday, police attached to Riverina Police District attended a home in Mary Street, North Wagga.
Following inquiries, a 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
He was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Wednesday 24 April).
