Police Charge Man After Armed Robbery - Corrimal

A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in the state's south.

About 1:30am today (Tuesday 7 January 2025), police were called to a convenience store on the Princes Highway, Corrimal.

On arrival, officers attached to Wollongong Police District were told a man allegedly armed with a knife entered the store and demanded money. He left the scene a short time later with an amount of cash.

There were no reports of injury

Following inquiries, about 2pm today (Tuesday 7 January 2025), police attended a residence in Murray Rd, Corrimal, where a 33-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with offensive weapon

He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court tomorrow, Wednesday 8 January 2025
