Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following the death of a cyclist in Bangholme this morning.
It's alleged a vehicle struck a cyclist before leaving the scene on Frankston-Dandenong Road, north of Thompsons Road.
The cyclist was located by passers-by on the side of the road shortly before 6am.
The 68-year-old Dandenong man was declared deceased at the scene.
A 37-year-old Cranbourne East man has been charged with numerous offences including dangerous driving causing death and failing to render assistance.
He has been bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 22 May.
