Police Charge Man After Boat Crash - Wilberforce

A man has been charged following a boat crash in Sydney's northwest.

Just after 9pm (Sunday 4 February 2024), emergency services were called to a nearby boat ramp on Pitt Town Ferry Road, Wilberforce, following reports a boat had crashed into the riverbank.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a woman – believed to be aged in her 30's; however, she died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

A 38-year-old man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

The vessel was seized for examination and police from the Marine Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following extensive inquiries, the 38-year-old man was arrested at Windsor Police Station, about 9am Tuesday 18 June 2024.

He was charged with culpably navigate manner dangerous – cause death by impact.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Windsor Local Court on Thursday 11 July 2024.
