Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault in Burwood on 16 November.
It is alleged the male victim was waiting at a bus stop on Station Street when he was approached by an unknown man about 1.45pm.
Police will allege the offender picked up a brick and assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene.
A 76-year-old Burwood man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 34-year-old Geelong West man was arrested in Burwood on 16 November.
He has since been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, common law assault and assault with a weapon.
He has been remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates' Court on 22 November.
