Police Charge Man After Commercial Burglaries In North

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an investigation into several commercial burglaries in the north-west region, which occurred between 11 August and 18 September.

Police will allege the man committed burglaries at several different locations including;

• Barber Street in Hoppers Crossing on 11 August

• Somerville Road in Kingsville on 28 August

• Tom Roberts Parade in Point Cook on 1 September

• Mt Derrimut Road in Derrimut on 1 September

• Keilor Road in Essendon North on 3 September

• The Avenue in Sunshine West on 6 September

• Commercial Road in Footscray on 7 September

• Military Road in Avondale Heights on 10 September

• Railway Ave in Laverton on 14 September

• Ballarat Road in Deer Park on 18 September

Investigators arrested a 36-year-old Altona North man on 1 October and conducted a search warrant on a premises in Altona North.

Officers seized evidence including a stolen vehicle and other various items of stolen property.

It is alleged the estimated value of property damage and stolen items to exceed $80,000.

Police have laid 44 charges against the Altona North man including 18 counts of burglary, theft-of-motor vehicle, criminal damage and theft.

He has been remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates' court on 7 October.
