Police Charge Man After Cranbourne House Fire

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a house fire in Cranbourne yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house on fire in Roberts Road about 4.30pm on 4 December.

One person home at the time was evacuated safely.

The fire caused extensive damage to the property.

Four adjoining properties were also evacuated as a precaution and there were no injuries.

Swift acting officers arrested a 22-year-old Cranbourne man at the scene.

He was charged with criminal damage by fire.

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 5 December.
