Police charge man after crash - Edgecliff

A man has been charged following a fail to stop crash at Edgecliff during the early hours this morning.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of New South Head Road and Mona Road, Edgecliff, following reports of a collision about 12am (Friday 2 October 2020).

Police were told a black Porsche Macan S was travelling south on Mona Road when it allegedly drove through a red traffic light and crashed into a Toyota Camry.

The male driver of the Porsche and his female passenger got out of the car and fled the scene before police arrived.

The driver of the Toyota and his four passengers were uninjured in the crash.

Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

About 9pm (Friday 2 October 2020), a 34-year-old man attended Waverley Police Station where he spoke with police.

He was then charged with drive manner dangerous, not give particulars to other driver, and not stop at stop line at red light.

He was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 30 October 2020.
