Police Charge Man After Docklands Boat Arson

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged arson attack on a commercial boat in Docklands last year.

Emergency services were called to the fire on a boat near North Wharf Road just after 4.30am on 31 January, 2023.

No one was on the boat at the time.

Police executed a search warrant in Lalor in April 2024 and arrested a 32-year-old Lalor Man.

He was released pending further enquiries.

The 32-year-old Lalor man has today been charged with criminal damage by fire (arson) and possess methylamphetamine.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 19 August, 2024.
