Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged hit-run collision in Driffield last night.
Emergency services were called to reports that a car had collided with a bicycle on Strzelecki Highway about 5.10pm.
Police located a male cyclist who was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
There were no other reported injuries.
It is alleged that the cyclist was involved in a collision with a blue Toyota Corolla.
A short time later, police arrested a 33-year-old Moe man, alleged to be the driver of the Toyota.
The man has been charged with negligently causing serious injury.
He was bailed to appear before Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court at a later date.
