Police Charge Man After Drug Haul Seizure In St Kilda

St Kilda police officers have charged a man after locating a large amount of both cash and drugs in a vehicle in St Kilda on Saturday.

Police officers conducting patrols in the vicinity of Fitzroy Street, observed a parked vehicle with a man seated in the driver's seat on Victoria Street about 11pm on 3 August.

It is alleged officers observed the driver acting suspiciously before they conducted a search under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act.

A search of the car revealed what is alleged to be approximately 15g of cocaine, 250g of cannabis, 10g of ketamine, 30 MDMA capsules, 45 ecstasy tablets and 150 LSD tablets.

Approximately $10,860 in cash was also seized from the car before the man was arrested at the scene.

The 22-year-old Clayton man has been charged with:

• traffick cocaine

• traffick cannabis

• traffick LSD

• traffick methylamphetamine

• traffick ketamine

• possess cocaine

• possess cannabis

• possess LSD

• possess methylamphetamine

• possess ketamine

• negligently deal with proceeds of crime.

He has been bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court at a later date.
