Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a pursuit across Melbourne's eastern suburbs this morning.
Police allegedly sighted the Ford travelling along Heatherdale Road at the intersection of Canterbury Road at speed just after 4am.
Officers attempted to intercept the sedan but the driver allegedly refused and continued to drive in the vicinity of Springvale Road, Nunawading.
With the assistance of the Air Wing, officers successfully deployed stop sticks along Canterbury Road, Blackburn before the vehicle came to a stop on East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East.
The driver and sole occupant, a 23-year-old Footscray man, was immediately arrested.
The man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving whilst pursued by police, drive manner dangerous, fail to stop on police direction, drive while disqualified, going equipped to steal and deal with property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
He is expected to appear before the Moorabbin Magistrates' court later today.
Police will allege the vehicle was stolen from Henry Street, Hawthorn on 2 December.
