Police Charge Man After Fatal Collision At Cootamundra

A man has been charged following a fatal crash in the state's south west last month.

Just after 3pm on Friday 6 September 2024, police were told a 2-year-old boy had fallen from an all-terrain vehicle on a rural property on Dudaumana Road, Cootamundra.

The boy, was rushed to Cootamundra Hospital where he was declared deceased.

A 3-year-old boy was uninjured.

A crime scene was established with specialist police investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following extensive inquiries by the Crash Investigation Unit, the male driver, aged 34, was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of dangerous driving occasioning death.

The man will appear before Cootamundra Local Court on Monday 16 December 2024.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
