Police Charge Man After Fatal Crash At Albury

A man has been charged following a fatal crash in the states south last week.

About 7.35pm on Saturday 7 September 2024, emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash along Urana Road, Jindera, approximately 15km north of Albury.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the two male drivers and sole occupants of the vehicles.

The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old man, died a short time later enroute to hospital.

The driver of the utility, a 43-year-old man, was taken to hospital, where he remained under police guard in a stable condition.

Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Today (Thursday 12 September 2024), the 43-year-old man was released from hospital and taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving (occasioning death).

He was refused bail to appear before Albury Local Court tomorrow (Friday 13 September 2024).
