Police charge man after fatal crash in state's south

A man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash earlier this year in the state's south, that saw one person die and another critically injured.

About 1.15pm on Thursday 11 August 2022, emergency services were called to Federation Way, Daysdale, following reports of a collision between two trucks.

One driver – a man aged 30 – died at the scene.

The second driver – a 35-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police.

Following inquiries, the man, now aged 36, was charged with one count each of negligent driving (occasioning death), and dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous – serious indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Corowa Local Court on Monday 27 March 2023.
