Police Charge Man After Fatal Crash In Tooradin

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal car crash in Tooradin on Saturday 6 July.

It is alleged a silver 2009 Jeep Wrangler with three occupants was travelling south on South Gippsland Highway when the driver lost control and left the road at Baxter Tooradin Road before rolling just after 8.30pm.

The rear seat passenger, a 32-year-old Dandenong man, died at the scene.

The driver, a 38-year-old Clyde North man and front seat passenger, a 34-year-old Officer man, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have since charged the 38-year-old Clyde North man with dangerous driving causing death and he faced the Melbourne Magistrates' Court yesterday.

He was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 9 December 2024.
