Police Charge Man After Glenroy Death 4 June

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 42-year-old man this evening following the death of another man in Glenroy last month.

The Glenroy man was taken into custody by Fugitive Squad detectives at a hotel on King Street in the CBD around 12.30pm.

He was charged with one count of murder and will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court.

The charge follows the discovery a man's body in a Bindi Street property around 3pm on Sunday, 25 May.

The 67-year-old Shepparton North man had been fatally assaulted.

It's alleged an altercation took place at the address earlier that morning and the parties involved were known to each other.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad and Fugitive Squad conducted a significant search over the past 10 days in an attempt to locate the man.
