Central Gippsland Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives have charged a man following an investigation into historical sex assaults.
It is alleged five children, aged six to 10-years-old, were sexually assaulted at a school in Newborough in the 1980s.
The matter was reported to police in 2019 and an investigation commenced.
Investigators arrested a 63-year-old man on the Gold Coast over the weekend and was remanded in custody.
He has been charged with 11 counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency with a child under 16.
He has been bailed to appear at Latrobe Magistrates' Court on 28 April.
