A man has been charged after a home invasion at a property in Sydney's southwest on Monday.
Emergency services were called to Sturt Avenue at Georges Hall, just before 4am (Monday 1 April 2024), after reports of a home invasion.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and were told three men forced entry to the granny flat at the rear of a home.
The intruders confronted the occupant, a 35-year-old man, before assaulting him and ransacking the home.
The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established at the home which has been forensically examined by specialist officers and detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 23-year-old man at a home in Georges Hall, about 2.15am on Wednesday 3 April 2024. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence- inflict ABH, and aggravated enter dwelling in company intent to steal. He was bail refused to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 4 April 2024).
