Police Charge Man After Incident At Moree

A man will appear in court today following an alleged incident involving a gun in the state's north west.

About 12.35pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 November 2024), police were called to Drummond Street, Moree, following reports a person was seen with a weapon.

Officers attached to New England Police District arrived and were told a man had allegedly been seen in the area with a firearm.

Following inquiries, about 1:10pm, police attended a home on Kamilaroi Drive and arrested a 32-year-old man.

During a search of the property, police seized a number of items, however no firearms were located.

He was taken to Moree Police Station and charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Inverell Local Court today (Wednesday 20 November 2024).
