Police Charge Man After Launceston And Derby Incidents

A man has been charged after a series of aggravated burglaries in Launceston and Derby on Saturday afternoon.

Police received reports about two separate incidents at private residences at St Leonards and Kings Meadows where a man had allegedly entered the homes and confronted occupants.

The man allegedly stole car keys and a red Ford Ranger from the residence at Kings Meadows.

A third report was received from a Launceston business where a man allegedly entered and stole clothing before fleeing the scene.

A fourth report of a man entering a premises at Derby while two occupants were home led to the arrest of a 26 year old man and police recovering the stolen Ford Ranger.

Police also later located the clothing stolen from the business at a Launceston residence.

Nobody was physically injured during the incidents.

The man has been charged with three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of stealing, motor vehicle stealing, unlicensed driving, and drug offences.

He was bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September.
