Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a crash in Licola over the weekend
It is alleged a Holden utility was travelling along Tamboritha Road when the driver lost control and crashed down an embankment before landing on a boulder about 3.30pm on Saturday 10 December.
The male driver managed to get out of the car and raised the alarm.
His passenger, a 23-year-old Leongatha man, was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
A 26-year-old Leongatha man has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury.
He has been remanded to appear at Sale Magistrates' Court today.
