Police Charge Man After Moree Break And Enter

Police have charged a man after he allegedly used a tomahawk during a break and enter in Moree this weekend.

About 2.10pm Saturday (16 November 2024), police were called to a home on Alice Street, Moree, following reports of a break and enter.

Officers attached to New England Police arrived and where told an unknown man had allegedly forced his way into the home using a tomahawk.

The unknown man then allegedly threatened the resident with the weapon before leaving the scene.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 27-year-old man on Boston Street, Moree, about 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday 17 November 2024).

He was taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent armed, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear before Moree Local Court today (Monday 18 November 2024).
