Police Charge Man After Mortlake Fatal Collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Mortlake last week.

Detectives charged the 26-year-old Penshurst man with dangerous driving causing death and failing to give way at an intersection.

He has been bailed to appear at the Warrnambool Magistrates' court on 20 December.

The charges follow reports a silver Toyota Hilux utility and a grey Holden Barina collided at the intersection of Castle Carey and Mortlake-Ararat roads about 4pm on 11 December.

The driver of the Holden, a 32-year-old Warrnambool man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, the accused man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
