Police charge man after Nazi salute 16 November

Police have charged a man after he allegedly performed the Nazi salute in Newport last week.

It is alleged the salute was performed outside a Mason Street residential address about 3.50am on 12 November.

Officers were at the scene responding to a noise complaint.

The 55-year-old Newport man has been charged with perform a Nazi gesture, stalking, and threats to kill.

He has been bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 8 January 2024.
