A man has been charged after a pedestrian was injured during a crash in Sydney's west last month.
About 2.45pm on Friday 29 October 2021, emergency services were called to Claremont Street, Campsie, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
On arrival, officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command were told the driver of the car had allegedly hit a pedestrian whilst reversing.
The pedestrian – a woman believed to be aged in her 70s – was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle – a 77-year-old man – was also conveyed to hospital for mandatory testing, before being taken to Campsie Police Station.
Following inquiries, the man was issued a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm) on Wednesday 10 November 2021.
He is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday 11 January 2022.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have information or dashcam vision from the area to come forward.
