Police Charge Man After Police Ramming In Keilor Downs

North West Metro Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a police ramming in Keilor Downs yesterday.

Officers observed the McLaren Coupe on Milleara Road about 1.30pm on 21 May.

Police attempted to intercept the driver, before he allegedly rammed two unmarked police vehicles while trying to flee the scene.

The officers inside the vehicles were not injured.

Officers searched the vehicle, and located and seized a firearm and a quantity of drugs.

The 32-year-old Keilor East man has been charged with a number of offences, including:

• (5x) recklessly expose police officer to risk by driving

• (2x) fail to stop on police direction

• (4x) resist police

• traffick methylamphetamine

• possess methylamphetamine

• (2x) drive whilst disqualified

• prohibited person possess firearm

• (2x) possess prohibited weapon

He was remanded to appear before Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 22 May.
