A man has been charged following an alleged ramming of a police vehicle in the CBD on Friday night.
The 18-year-old Macedon man was charged with:
• Aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving (x6);
• Reckless conduct endangering life; and
• Theft of motor vehicle
He was remanded and is expected to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court later this morning.
A 19-year-old Lancefield man was interviewed and released from custody.
He is expected to be charged on summons with theft of motor vehicle.
The charges come after a police vehicle was allegedly rammed in the CBD on Friday night.
It is alleged a stolen white Toyota Corolla reversed into a police vehicle at the intersection of Queen and La Trobe Streets about 9.45pm.
Officers had stopped behind the Toyota and were approaching the car to speak with the driver when the driver reversed into the police vehicle.
The driver then allegedly collided with two other vehicle that were stationary in traffic on La Trobe Street before driving off.
The pair got out of the vehicle in nearby Spencer Street where police arrested them.
The two civilian vehicles, along with a police vehicle, were all towed from the scene with moderate damage.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
