Police Charge Man After Pursuit At Blackheath

A man will face court today charged over alleged traffic offences in the Blue Mountains area.

Just after 9.35am yesterday (Friday 6 December 2024), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling on Hat Hill Road, Blackheath, when they attempted to stop a ute.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued through to Blue Mountains National Park before road spikes were successfully deployed on Hat Hill Road.

The vehicle stopped and police arrested the 33-year-old male driver.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty, refuse or fail to submit breath test, fail to comply with request or signal to stop vehicle, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Wednesday 18 December 2024).
